Sony BMG Music issues (PART 1)
Sony BMG Music Entertainment released over 50 music titles containing a
"Content Protection Technology" that consists of software that
automatically installs on your computer if you insert it into a Windows
machine. Unfortunately, the software hides itself from detection after
installation using low level "rootkit" cloaking techniques very
similar to those used by the newest virus and malware species. To compound
matters (and expose users to a very real risk of harm) there are bugs in the
software that allow other internet borne programs (viruses, trojans, etc.) to
exploit the cloaking software already installed by the Sony BMG music CD.
(Some such exploits have already been discovered.)

Titles" (CD's that were released with this technology), as well as

software, click here.

cloaking feature that could be exploited), click here.
Sony BMG Music issues (PART 2)
Another vulnerability has been discovered in the (different) protection
technology used by Sony BMG in an additional 27 music titles.

titles (CD's that were released with this different technology), as well as
information on a software update that fixes the
software, click here.
